Vinyl Banners Printed for Haggen/Top Foods Monopoly Promotion

This past week, Washington Graphics LLC printed 27 vinyl banners as well as A-Frame skins for the Haggen/Top Foods retailers in the Seattle area. The large banners, ranging in sizes from 25′ x 5′ to 10′ x 3′, as well as the 6-foot A-board graphics, are advertisements for the chain’s upcoming Monopoly game promotional event.

The grocer’s history began in 1933 when Ben and Dorothy Haggen and Doug Clark founded Haggen, Inc. with only $1100. Over the last 79 years, the company has expanded throughout Washington and Oregon and has dedicated themselves to “providing our customers with the very best quality, personal service, and the latest innovations from around the world.”

It is no surprise that Haggen led the way in modernizing America’s grocery stores. In 1941, they were the first grocer in the region to offer a self-service meat department.

A decade later in 1951, Haggen was the first grocery store in the country to offer an FTD floral department within their stores.

In 1982, Haggen continued to lead the way in customer service by opening the first 24-hour grocery store in the region. And finally, in 1989, they became the first grocery store in the United States to have an in-store Starbucks – something very near and dear to the hearts of Seattleites!

Today, Haggen continues to thrive as the Northwest’s largest independent grocer and, according to SuperMarket News, one of the nation’s 75 largest grocery chains.

Vinyl banners such as these are the perfect way to advertise for promotions, sales, events, or even for your company’s location in a bold, large, noticeable fashion. They can promote your business 24/7, and our top quality indoor or outdoor banners can stand up to even the most inclement weather.

Washington Graphics LLC has all the capabilities to create customized marketing material that is as unique as your business! We would be happy to work with you, so call us today for a free estimate!

‘Attila’ Brought to Life with Large Format Printing – Seattle, WA

Washington Graphics LLC has again partnered with the magnificent Seattle Opera to print both a 3-sheet promotional and a lobby banner advertising for their electrifying performance of Attila.

The opera is set in the fifth century and tells the story of how the main character, leader of the Huns, is vanquished by a Roman woman warrior, Odabella. The masterful performance epitomizes good vs. evil and is filled with dirty politics, assassination plots, and plenty of mischief.

This famous opera by Giuseppe Verdi enjoyed immense popularity among Italians during the 1840s and 1850s.

Although the opera has not had much exposure in the United States, Seattle Opera’s General Director Speight Jenkins thought that audiences today would relate to aspects of Attila’s plot.

Jenkins said, “This is an opera about warfare. More particularly, it’s about an unconventional guerilla-style army taking on an establishment and its better-trained soldiers. You have only to look at the Arab Spring to see how timely that is.”

These familiar aspects of Attila spurred Seattle Opera’s production team to use modern dress for the actors, with the Hun fighters donning fatigues and carrying machine guns. What an interesting twist!

However, the musical qualities in this production don’t only reflect guns and gore. Jenkins notes how Attila is actually a bridge between Verdi’s earlier operas and his later more naturally expressive works (Attila was Verdi’s 9th opera out of 29). According to Jenkins, “There are moments in Attila where the music is as beautiful as anything Verdi ever wrote.”

Founded in 1963 by Glynn Ross, Seattle Opera has grown to be one of the premier opera companies in the United States. Some of their earlier claims to fame under Ross included both the world premiere production of Carlisle Floyd’s opera Of Mice and Men in 1970 and the 1975 production of Wagner’s Ring de Nebilungen opera in a one week festival – something that had not been done in the United States since 1939 or outside of New York ever.

In 1993, they even partnered with Seattle’s famous glass artist Dale Chihuly to create a stunning set for Pelleas et Melisande. It is no surprise that Seattle Opera has the highest per capita attendance of any opera house in the United States.

In addition to their riveting performances, Seattle Opera’s influence extends through education programs, the sets it build for other companies, and the helping hand it lends to community projects such as repairing the Monorail doors for the City of Seattle.

Seattle Opera used both a banner hung from the ceiling of their lobby and a larger promotional one placed outside to intrigue any passersby for a night at the opera!

Imagine what graphics like these could do for your establishment! Promotional campaigns such as these create a buzz about an event or product when you want to generate excitement and always keep your products top of mind.

From barricade graphics promoting a new store to banners such as these, Washington Graphics LLC has all the tools to help you achieve your marketing dreams! If you are interested in similar promotional work, give Washington Graphics LLC a call today at 425.376.0877.

Washington Graphics LLC Prints Transit Advertising for PCC Natural Markets

During the past month, Washington Graphics LLC and PCC Natural Markets teamed up to create a variety of eye-catching, mouth-watering transit graphics for the Seattle Metro Bus System. The signs were 30″ x 144″ and pictured a variety of delectable holiday foods such as cookies, cheese, cherries, and oranges.

PCC Natural Markets has a long history as a local Seattle establishment dating back to 1953, when it began as a food-buying club of 15 families. Today, PCC has grown to be the largest food retail co-operative in the United States!

The retailer has nine locations in the Puget Sound area and is owned by almost 45,000 members. PCC is first and foremost committed to the superior quality of the food they sell. Local food vendors that partner with PCC are directly accountable to the grocer’s staff, ensuring that only the highest quality food gets sold.

Furthermore, PCC only partners with local organic farmers to bring their customers the freshest products available. The retailer also prides itself on showing customers how to create delectable recipes through classes taught by professional chefs through the PCC Cooks program.

PCC genuinely cares about the consumer as well, sharing nutrition issues that affect you and your family in their monthly newsletter called The Sound Consumer. The local grocer has also led the way in sustainability through the energy efficiency, waste management, and air quality of their stores. In fact, PCC even won the 2009 Green Washington Award in the retail category!

Transit advertising is one of the most effective ways of marketing your brand. In fact, according to the American Trucking Association, vehicle graphics such as these can generate up to 16 million views annually within a city.
